Yael Schuster
What Memories Will This Moment Leave Me With is a sound installation that delves into themes of grief, nostalgia, resilience and decay. For this work, Yael wanted to explore in sound and sight, the tension between temporal realms, questioning which holds more weight and influence over our present selves.
Yael’s interested in how sound and bodily extensions can create a heightened sensory space — one where vulnerability, fantasy, and the surreal intersect. Her work tries to invite audiences into these in-between states, opening up possibilities for transformation and the re-imagining of human experience.
Her practice moves through sound installation and SFX prosthetics as a way to explore the thresholds between the human body, fantasy, and transformation. She is drawn to experiences of grief, metamorphosis, and the fragile space between what is real and what is imagined - states where identity and the body are both unraveled and reshaped. She creates immersive environments that evoke worlds just outside of reach - a kind of speculative terrain that reinterprets our emotional landscapes.
