The Inciting Incident involves resonant vibrations of colliding glass plates at low frequencies, symbolizing how every story, personal or societal, begins with creation but inevitably faces moments of transformation. As creation marks the beginning, destruction follows closely behind. The narrative of life mirrors this cycle of destruction and reconstruction, unfolding in a perpetual motion of renewal. The parallel between the destruction in stories and the chaos we encounter in life highlights constant transformation. Each collision contributes to the ongoing narrative.

Lou Kim is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher whose practice mainly manifests in light, sound, and installations that change over time. For the past few years, her artistic research has evolved around the connection between creation and destruction — how every story, whether individual or societal, begins with a single point of creation but inevitably encounters moments of collapses and transformation. In order to establish the stages and structures of destruction that occur in complex life and society, it emphasizes the point that we enter the story, and this approach leads her to the consideration of destruction. Based on research, she creates collisions in multiple scenes, the conflict between sounds, the collisions within machines, and the clash of visual and auditory images to its explosive elements.
