katharina busl

With her multimedia installation Bliss Domain, Katharina Busl shows how modern technologies reconnect us with ancient rituals, belief systems and mythologies. Her work focuses not on technology itself, but on the cognitive patterns that shape our understanding of reality. For this particular work, Busl drew inspiration from temple and altar environments. It shows a sacred in-between space where water, sculpture, sound and scent come together to form a sanctuary, bridging the gap between the sacred and the profane, as well as the digital and material world.

Katharina Busl is interested in the space where virtual and material reality intertwine. She explores this concept using a variety of media including installation, painting, sculpture, and digital media. Currently, her research focuses on the parallels between myths, religions, and virtual worlds. In this era of information, where digital technologies are integral to our social and cultural identity, she continually seeks to explore these transformative forces within her practice.
